Trusting God

This Week's Scripture Reading:

Psalm 40:2 - Isaiah 41:10 - Jeremiah 17:7 - Romans 8:28 - 1 Peter 2:9

How do we trust the LORD in every area of our lives? Especially when we feel in despair or anxious about a trial or storm we may be in the middle of.

Did you know that the trial you're in didn't surprise God? He knew you would be facing this hardship. The key to trusting in God during this season is to remember there is nothing random in His kingdom. Everything happens in order to accomplish His plans for our lives and that includes trials and tribulations.

We need to embrace the Apostle Paul's words in Romans 8:28 when he writes that "we know that for those who love God.." Let's pause here. Do you love the LORD? How do you know? Jesus gave us a very specific clue for us to know if we truly love Him. He said in John 14:15, "If you love Me, keep My commands." His commands? Love the LORD with all your heart and love your neighbor.

Paul says if you love God then... "ALL things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose." When we put this scripture together it says this:

If you love God, then know matter what you're facing it will work together for good for those who are called. If you love the LORD, you are called according to His purpose. He has a plan for your life. The trials we face are a part of His plan so take comfort in knowing God is working on your behalf. Take courage and be strong in the LORD for He is a faithful guide leading you to the other side of the storm.

This week's prayer:

LORD, we thank You for Your faithfulness. Even when we are going through trials and storms we know that You are with us. We stand on Your word and Your promises. Continue to be our refuge and our guide during the hardships we face in this life. Bless us and keep us. Make Your face shine upon us and be gracious. Give us Your peace during the storms of life. Amen.
