This evening, we will begin a study called, “Shaken: The Authentic Church.” The basis of this study will be the book of Acts although other passages will be used as well. Tonight’s study is called, “The Primacy of the Spirit”. Jesus pointed His disciples to a moment beyond the baptism of John. His words echoed the promise He gave them the night before His crucifixion - words pointing to baptism with the Holy Spirit. This was not to be ignored in the wake of other biblical jewels. The primacy of the Holy Spirit was to be the forefront of their focus – it was the Promise of the Father. Jesus stated that receiving the Holy Spirit would cause significant transformation in the disciples. First, it would release power in them.
