Into the Light—Two2Grow, Thursday, October 8
“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” James 5:16 NIV

We are at war with sin and the devil, and we constantly need to be awake and on our alert.
The devil’s greatest tactic is to work in the dark: to get us isolated and to keep things hidden, making us think that we can handle things on our own. But alone isn’t strong. You can’t win on your own.

The Christian life is a team game, not an individual game.

The Bible instructs us to confess our sins to others. It means seeking out a trusted person who we know loves God and loves us, and sharing what we are facing. By sharing, you bring things into the light, and the devil can’t stand the light.

I have seen strongholds break off people just by the simple act of them speaking about what they are struggling with and then putting it in the Lord’s hands. For others, it is the beginning of a journey toward freedom. Either way, to be open and transparent is to invite the light of the Holy Spirit, and it is the first step toward liberty and a healed life.

Speaking to a Christian friend or a minister (confession) and together speaking to God (prayer) leads to God’s transformation (healing).

Father, thank you for looking out for my best and that you want me to flourish. Give me courage today to confess my sins so that my life is more open to your light and salvation. Amen.
