The Sure Foundation for Our Times—Two2Grow, Tuesday, August 4
“He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is the key to this treasure.” Isaiah 33:6 NIV
The world around us is changing very quickly. As we watch the news, we can see that social values we thought were "givens" aren't anymore. There are wars and economic turmoil. We are also just beginning to see the impact of artificial intelligence, and whatever that impact will be, it will at least bring significant changes.
When we look to the future and wonder how things will turn out, we can easily become worried. But that is when we have to lean on God.
I love the phrase that God "will be the sure foundation for our times." In a changing world, God is our source of stability and strength. He is our firm foundation, the Rock of Ages who never changes. With God, we will be okay.
We must make sure that we anchor every area of our lives in Jesus. Beyond the forgiveness of sins, we need to anchor our relationships in God, our self-worth, our safety, our health, our finances, our work, our goals, and our hopes. Make sure that God is the foundation of them all.
Take a moment and check your heart. Is there any area where God isn't your sure foundation?
It is a wonderful thing to release those areas of your life to God and pray:
Jesus, You are the sure foundation of my future. I commit [name the particular area] into Your hands. I trust that You will take care of me. I know that with You I will be okay. Amen.
