Deeply ingrained in the history of Israel are the prophecies of a coming Messiah. Jacob – given the name Israel by God – prophesied this about One coming from Judah (Genesis 49:10-12). The prophet Amos had something to say about the coming of the Messiah (Amos 9:11 & 9:13). Describing the changes Messiah’s kingdom will create, Isaiah prophesied (Isaiah 25:6-8). So what was the beginning of Jesus’ ministry and His first miracle?
