In the Middle of the Night I Go Walking in the Book of Dreams

Speaker:
Passage: 2 Peter 2:1-4
Service Type:
But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.
For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment.
/// 2 Peter 2:1-4

Do you sometimes sit up late at night and can’t keep your mind off of work, finances, relationships, family, etc.? Do you ever wonder who you can call at those hours, the literal darkest hours of the day; who else is awake? Sometimes these darkest hours follow us into the day, who do we talk to? These things can destroy our dreams and crush our spirits, but God is always here with us to raise us up and listen to our prayers, an ever present light even in the darkest of hours.

Because of the promises of the New Testament, of which there are over 250, we can continue to dream. We can continue to have hope in the things of God. We need to be dreamers, and are called to have dreams; to pursue the schemes and insane impractical things that simply shouldn’t work. How do planes fly, how do computer chips work, how can we speak to people on the other side of the planet in real time? Because visionaries worked tirelessly and faithfully to make their dreams a reality! To believe the impossible, you have to see the invisible.

Don’t be sleeping, be seeking.

Don’t be slipping, be speaking.

Don’t be settling, start again.

Are you walking in fervent faith to fulfill your visions and dreams through the promises of God? He has salvation for all of us, we simply have to accept it.
