Your New Bloodline

Most of us have heard of generational curses. But did you know these "curses" are sometimes generational patterns? It's the familiar saying, "monkey see monkey do" manifesting itself in our lives and in the lives of our children. 

You see, whether we realize it or not, generational patterns exist through modeling. Modeling occurs when either our parents, grandparents, or parental figures demonstrate certain patterns of behavior during our formative years. For instance, if alcoholism runs in your family it's very possible that not only can you be susceptible to the genetics but also through the modeling you received by your parental guardian(s) who drink or drank to excess. The same with depression, anxiety, drug addiction, obsessive compulsive disorder, etc.. The modeling we receive probably dates back through multiple generations and can seem impossible to overcome. Wow, Pastor Paul. You're full of all kinds of good news...NOT!

There is good news for those of us who struggle with generational patterns of negative behavior. We have an opportunity to leave those generational patterns behind when we receive Jesus as our Savior. When we come to Christ, we are literally born again into a new bloodline. His bloodline is more powerful than our own family bloodline. His bloodline is eternal, perfect, sinless, pure, and incorruptible. We can break those generational patterns, or "curses" if you will, by realizing whose bloodline we are from once we are born again. Those deepest issues of ours that may have been created by generational patterns can finally be put to rest if we choose to commit to our new bloodline in Christ. Are you willing to commit to Jesus' bloodline and receive deliverance from those negative behavioral patterns? It's your choice. 

Heavenly Father, thank You for shedding Your blood on the cross for me and for accepting me into Your bloodline. Because of Your bloodline, I am a new person; born again of the spirit and not of the flesh. Because of Your bloodline I have the capacity and strength to end any generational behavioral patterns from my old self and walk in Your newness of life. Continue to guide me and reinforce in me that I am Your child and therefore free from my past and from my previous bloodline. In Jesus name, AMEN.
