Be Free - Hearing From God

This Week's Scripture Reading:

Jeremiah 33:3  -  Psalm 91:15  -  John 10:4

Do you ever wish God would use a megaphone to speak to you so you could clearly here His voice? Or create a burning bush in your living room and tell you to take off your shoes? Wouldn't that be awesome! Unfortunately, that hasn't been God's pattern of communication since Genesis and there's a reason for that. God has already spoken in His word. Now don't get me wrong. God can certainly speak from the mountain top when He chooses however, the bible remains the main source for hearing the LORD. What is God speaking to you? Because He is speaking.
There are other voices that speak as well. Voices from the past that tell us all sorts of things like, "You're not worthy"; "You'll never be successful"; "You're not good enough". These voices tend to use megaphones when they speak and that should be the first clue that what you're hearing is NOT from the LORD.

In order to begin the journey towards freedom, we need to consider where these other voices originate since they're obviously not from God. Why? Because listening to these voices can actually create a blockage between you and the LORD. That blockage or barricade is what prevents us from entering the highway that leads to freedom so it is vitally important to recognize and identify who or what is speaking to us.

How do we know God speaks to us? In Jeremiah 33:3 God tells says, "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." Psalm 91:15 says, "He will call on Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him." There appears to be a pattern here. Something is required for us to be able to hear God speak. Do you see it?
Call upon the LORD and He will answer and deliver you. Remember, only God can deliver healing and deliver you to be free. Only by the power of the Holy Spirit can our hearts be truly healed.

This week's prayer:

Heavenly Father, we give thanks for who You are and for all You provide including Your word which says if we call upon You, You will answer and deliver us. Give us courage to face the voices that are not from You and to declare they no longer have power over us. We submit ourselves to You as clay in the Potter's hands. Bless us and keep us. Make Your face shine upon us. Be gracious to us and give us peace. In Jesus name, Amen.
