“And the scripture was fulfilled that says, ‘Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,’ and he was called God’s friend.” James 2:23 NIV
God wants us to trust Him, and when we do, it pleases Him. There is a special smile from heaven over us when we live by faith, and we enter into a closer walk with God.
Abraham stands as an example of faith in the Bible. God promised to bless him and use him to bless the world. Even though it looked impossible, Abraham refused to be discouraged and doubt God. The Bible gives an amazing testimony about him: “Abraham believed God.”
Wouldn’t it be amazing if this was your testimony and mine too? At the end of the day, faith is a choice. So, regardless of how I feel, how difficult life is, or how dark the circumstances are, I want to follow in the footsteps of Abraham.
I encourage you to find today’s verse in your Bible and write your name there. I have written in mine, “Mikael believed God.” Sometimes when I face a challenging situation, I go to that verse and say it aloud. It sets my direction and reminds me of how I want to live and react.
By choosing to trust Him, I have seen God do miracles and turn situations around that I could never have imagined were possible. You will too!
Say aloud: “[Your name] believed God.”
God, I trust You today. Thank You for being faithful and coming through for me. Amen.
