The Antidote to Fear — Two2Grow, July 1

"Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me." John 14:1 NLT
Fear is a bully—it wants to set the limits for our lives and decide what we can and cannot do.
Fear is an enemy. If we give in to fear, we will never fulfill God’s assignment for our lives.
We tend to speak our fears and make choices based on what we are afraid could happen.
But Jesus doesn’t want us to be ruled by fear. Jesus came to set us free from fear.
Faith is the antidote to fear. Trusting God doesn’t mean we will never feel fear, but it does mean that we look beyond our fear to God and His Word. We don’t deny what we experience, but in the midst of trouble, we choose to trust God.
We have to choose not to let fear take our hearts captive and instead turn to Jesus. All it takes is telling the Lord, “I trust You,” and then acting accordingly. Instead of putting our fear into words and actions, we let our faith in Jesus shape our words, thoughts, and actions.
Fear wants to rule and ruin your life. By the power of the Holy Spirit, you can choose today not to let fear bully you.
Tell fear: “Fear, I will not let you run my life. I resist you in Jesus’ name.”
Tell Jesus: “I decide to trust You today. I know You will come through for me.”
