Where God Guides, He Provides – Two2Grow, June 28
“The LORD will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.” Isaiah 58:11 NLT
Throughout the Bible, God shows His love toward His people by providing for their material needs. It is not, as some think, that God only cares about our spiritual lives and leaves us to sort out our physical needs. No. God cares about every dimension of our lives, and He takes pleasure in providing for us.
Emelie and I have seen God’s provision in amazing ways. Even when God has called us to take radical steps of faith that involved financial risks, not once have we fallen behind on bills or ended up stranded in some way. Often, we had no idea how God was going to provide, but He always came through.
I love the expression, “Where God guides, He provides.” It captures the wonderful promise of God’s provision, just as we read about in today’s verse.
But it also highlights an important point that is sometimes forgotten: God’s promise of provision is directly connected to living according to His will for our lives.
When you know that you are walking in God’s plan, you can also trust Him to provide for your material needs. God is not unjust; He will not send you on a mission without also making sure you have the resources needed to complete it. Trust Him with all your needs today.
Father, thank You that You have a plan for my life. Help me to trust You and believe that You have already stored up provisions for me as I walk with you.
