When Jesus Says “Yes”, Nobody Can Say “No” – Two2Grow, May 11
Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.” John 21:22 NIV
In Jesus’s reply to the inquisitive Peter, who wondered about the future of John, we see that it is Jesus who makes the final decision in our lives.
There is a worship song especially popular in Africa that captures the ultimate power of Jesus. It says,
“When Jesus say ‘Yes’ nobody can say ‘No’”.
One time I had a health crisis and passed out in traffic, but the Lord rescued me. The night after that event I woke up with the presence of the Holy Spirit filling the room and I thanked God for saving me. I will never forget what I sensed Jesus telling me: “Mikael, the devil tried to take your life, but I said ‘no’”. The whole experience energized my faith and helped me realize how foolish it is to be afraid.
We live under Jesus’s “yes” over our lives! Think about that for a moment. Is that not wonderful? Today you are alive because the Lord is saying “yes” over you.
Rest in the reality that no person, no institution, no devil in hell can change Jesus’s “yes”. When the devil wants to mess with us and Jesus says “no”, there is nothing the enemy can do about it!
Realizing that we live under Jesus’s “Yes” is the beginning of radical faith and the end of all fear.
Thank you Jesus that today I am alive under your “yes”. Help me realize your greatness so that I can face my future with your love and free from worry and fear.
